Highlights from This Year’s Innovation Radar Prize
The Innovation Radar Prize 2024, held in Lisbon last month, celebrated its 10th anniversary by recognizing four standout EU-funded startups. Polish biotech Cellisclaimed the top prize for its breakthrough immunotherapy targeting difficult-to-treat cancers, showcasing Europe’s potential to lead in healthcare innovation. Other winners included Gelatex(Estonia), which uses eco-friendly nanofiber technology for industrial applications; AEinnova(Spain), pioneering energy-harvesting solutions for the Internet of Things; and Qilimanjaro(Spain), advancing quantum computing with an emphasis on hybrid solutions for real-world challenges.
The event, organized by Dealflow.eu in partnership with the European Commission, featured over 200 participants, including entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers. By spotlighting these startups, the EU continues to foster a vibrant ecosystem for cutting-edge technologies with transformative social and economic impacts.
Join Our Sustainable Construction Matchmaking Event: Open Call for Innovators
Dealflow.eu’s Multicorporate Matchmaking Event dedicated to Sustainable Construction is coming up! The event, co-organised with Eura AG, will be held online in the first quarter of 2025.
The goal of the matchmaking event is to bring together EU-funded innovators and corporates headquartered in the EU to foster collaboration on different levels, namely: further technological development (open innovation), piloting of products/solutions, purchase of solutions by corporate (commercial relation), investment relation.

At our most recent Multicorporate Matchmaking Event, CUF joined forces with Siemens Healthineers to connect with 18 startups specialising in Health and MedTech innovations, exploring avenues for collaboration and investment prospects.
We spoke with representatives from CUF to gain their perspectives on the event and to learn why they believe innovators should seise the opportunity to take part in such collaborative ventures.
For this article, we met with Nora Alonso, a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in agribusiness and biotech, specialising in company structuring, fundraising, and international partnerships, and currently serving as a partner at DnA Advisory Services and General Partner at Swanlaab Agrifood-Tech Fund.
